Singer 15-91
Since this is an ongoing project, this article is often updated.

The Singer 15-91 was manufactured from 1930 to 1956 and was replaced in 1955 by the Singer 15-125 with a slight overlap in production. The feature that separates the Singer model 15-91 from the other model 15s (save for the 15-125), is the potted motor. Other than the motor housing, bobbin winder, and balance wheel assembly the 15-91 parts are generally* swappable with other Singer model 15 machines.
* There may be some parts variation based on the year of manufacture.
Disassembly of the main components

When deep cleaning I generally leave the main and hook shafts in place unless there’s an actual reason to remove them. In this case I went ahead and removed the hook shaft to get some good photos of the parts.

Lots of cleaning later, and now I’m reassembling the machine. I’m documenting the reassembly in sections and documenting them as I go.

Main motor parts

There’s a lot that goes into rebuilding a Singer potted motor, and I’ll write about it in another article, but for now you can at least see the main components.
Singer Lamp

The two main types of Singer lamps supplied with the model 15-91 were the CAT. S-3 and CAT.-S4.
