Kenmore 148.15600

The Kenmore 148.15600 is one of my “Go To” machines. It’s a portable machine that can be converted to free arm by removing the bed extension. It’s not all that heavy, but it’s not so light that it walks around during normal use.

The machine comes with regular straight and Zig Zag stitches and also includes decorative and stretch stitches. The internal cam stack and stitch selector mechanisms that make these stitches possible are made of metal.

The one weak point that I’ve found in this model is that the metal part of the front knobs sometimes crumbles. The machine can still be used, but setting the machine to the desired stitch can take a bit of trial and error. My first Kenmore 148.15600 had this issue so I bought another, and I’m happy I did.
