Singer 646 Touch & Sew

Singer 646 Touch & Sew with plastic internal parts. Near top of the line when new, in my opinion these machines are a lesson in designed obsolescence.

Typical of 1970s Singer sewing machines this has plastic gears that have failed. These broken gears can be replaced if you have the patience and mechanical ability, but paying someone to restore one of these machines tends to be cost prohibitive.

I have two of these Singer 646 Touch & Sew machines and they have two different style stitch length adjusters.
